The Waiting Room signified a shift in which she realized the arts to be the most potent form of expression. It was only during the last two years of college that she discovered acting, and for the first time, felt her craft truly aligned with her purpose. Wanda showed her that she is a storyteller, and this uncanny parallel convinced Ramona to follow that path.
Ramona moved to Joshua Tree to grieve and focus on songwriting, where she inevitably was introduced to film directing. After moving to Los Angeles, she began making her own films and directed music videos for other artists. She seeks to tell stories that question the ways we make meaning from failure, and is driven to write feminine protagonists who surprise audiences by being anti-examples of what we may expect from gendered power relations.
