Do you shoot digital?

While I have experience shooting digital motion picture cameras for film and music videos, I choose to shoot still photography on film. I love the intentionality that film demands: every frame is carefully considered and composed.

What is so great about film?

Film is magic. I only shoot film because I believe there is something about analog photography that you simply can’t replicate with digital. Film forces me to be present and interact with the people I photograph, and recognize what Henri Cartier-Bresson called “the decisive moment.” There is a feeling when I press the shutter and know I’ve just captured something special. 
Where do you work?
I’m currently based in NYC and spend a portion of the year in Athens, Greece and the Adirondacks. I’m available for shoots locally, across the continent, and abroad.

What are your rates?

Portraits start at $600.  Elopements, Courthouse Weddings & Events start at $800. Weddings start at $2,000. Brands & Editorial start at $1,200.  
Does your rate include the cost of film?
Film, processing, and scanning are billed separately from my photography fee. I pass these costs directly on to you at the lab/retail price. Before your shoot, we'll determine approximately how much film we'll need based on the length and needs of your session.
Why are your prices lower than other photographers?
I’m currently building my photography business, which allows me to offer competitive rates while bringing 15 years of experience shooting analog photography.
How many rolls of film will you shoot?
This depends on the length and needs of your shoot, as well as your film stock budget. Before the shoot, we'll discuss your priorities and determine a film budget that makes sense for the project.
How will I get to see my images?
You will receive your processed film scans as high-quality digital files via a downloadable link.

How many photos will we receive?

This depends on the length of your shoot and how many hours I cover. Film photography is all about being present and intentional. I prioritize quality over quantity. I’m not trying to create as many photographs as possible, but to make each frame count and deliver a collection that feels meaningful; a true relic of the event.
What resolution are film scans?
Scans come in different sizes. We will work together to decide the quality of scans that best fits your needs. 
What can we expect for turnaround time?
I typically ship film to the lab within 1–2 business days after your shoot. Once the film is processed and scanned, I personally handle the editing and post-production of every gallery. Turnaround time depends on the scope of the project. For weddings, you can expect your final gallery within 8–10 weeks. For smaller projects, delivery is typically 4–6 weeks.

If you need a rush turnaround, expedited processing may be available for an additional fee. 
What do you do with the negatives after?
Once your film has been processed, I can ship the original negatives to you, or I can safely archive them. 
What do you charge for prints?
I don't currently produce darkroom prints in-house, but I work with and can recommend excellent darkroom printers. I can also have your images professionally printed from the digital scans.
