BIO

Ramona is a New York–based filmmaker from a town of two thousand in the Adirondack Mountains. Her work is informed through film, theater, writing, still photography and song. She has lived in the Mojave and Sonoran desert, up and down California, and Athens, Greece. She seeks to tell stories that question the ways we make meaning from failure, and is driven to write feminine protagonists who surprise audiences by being anti-examples of what we may expect from gendered power relations.

At 15, Ramona found a Canon EOS in the attic which was packed away during her parents' divorce. Her mother said it was hers. Her father claimed it was his. She took the camera for her own and found a way to speak to the world beyond the limits of her tongue.
